The Port of Hamburg in Germany (HHLA) has taken delivery of a high voltage traction battery developed by Colibri Energy for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV’s). Colibri Energy’s lithium battery has successfully passed all tests and is used to move 40 foot shipping containers to and from container ships arriving in Germany’s largest port.
The German Government’s Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy is sponsoring the project as a key part of its strategy increase usage of Electric Mobility across the country. The AGV’s drive autonomously 24 hours a day under all weather conditions and require high availability in order to meet tight shipping schedules. The 720V lithium battery developed by Colibri Energy has a capacity of 210 kWh.
Colibri Energy delivers high voltage traction system for John Deere hybrid tractor
John Deere, the market leading manufacturer of agricultural equipment, has taken delivery of a Colibri Energy 750V battery with a capacity of 60 kWh for a hybrid electric tractor. In a research project sponsored by the German Government’s Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, the SEASAM project delivered a lithium battery approved for German street usage that can be used to power attached equipment and provide stationary energy storage on farms. The high capacity energy storage system can be used to power and control attachment speeds independently from tractor ground speed or rpm.
Colibri Energy delivers energy storage systems for smart grid and autonomous energy research on the island of Pellworm
The North Sea Island of Pellworm is the perfect location for the installation and operation of renewable energy production, smart girds and Energy Storage Systems (ESS). The University of Applied Sciences Westküste and the Advanced System Technology (AST) Branch of Fraunhofer IOSB have concluded their project “SmartRegion Pellworm” where they integrated high efficiency Colibri Energy Storage Systems with multiple energy generation technologies. The project’s objective was to determine how renewable energy could be optimally combined with lithium based electricity storage. Colibri Energy delivered both the Electrical Storage Systems for private households and the controlling software for the project
